POOL/PACT HR Training Policies

In-Person Attendance Policy

Participants must register for training programs in order to attend. Participants are expected to attend each session of an in-person training program in its entirety, whether a multi-day certificate program or a single-day non-certificate course. Those who miss more than one hour of a session for certificate programs, or 25% of a non-certificate course will not be eligible to receive a certificate of completion (certificate programs) or certificate of attendance (non-certificate courses) until all sessions are completed in their entirety. Those who do not complete the first session of a multi-day certificate program will not be allowed to attend the other sessions until the first session is completed. In addition, participants must complete all pre-assessment and post-assessment evaluations. Failure to meet these expectations may disqualify participants from receiving a certificate of completion/attendance and continuing education units (CEUs).

Virtual Training Participation and Attendance Policy

Participants must register for training programs in order to attend. Participants are expected to attend each session of a virtual training program in its entirety, whether a multi-day certificate program or a single-day non-certificate course.

Participants are expected to have their own workstation with a functioning webcam that remains on during the entirety of each training session, have access to a microphone to engage in group activities, and participate in all activities. Failure to meet these expectations may disqualify participants from receiving a certificate of completion/attendance and continuing education units (CEUs). Participants who do not have a functioning microphone or access to their own workstation within 15 minutes of the training start time will be removed from the session. The technology and workstation requirements do not apply to entity-specific policy compliance trainings.

POOL/PACT Educational Risk Management Grants may be available to defray costs of webcams and/or microphones for member-owned equipment for staff unable to attend this training due to budget constraints.

Certificate Program Make-up Policy

Participants who miss more than one hour of a certificate program session may be able to retake the session in its entirety in order to receive a certificate. Interested participants should contact POOL/PACT HR.

Recording of Training Policy

Due to the changing nature of human resources laws and issues to include potential misinterpretation of information, POOL/PACT HR does not allow recording of any type (e.g., audio recording, videotaping) of our trainings including, but not limited to, facilitator-led courses, HR Briefings, online trainings, and webinars. If POOL/PACT HR determines training should be recorded for member use, POOL/PACT HR will conduct recording and maintain ownership of the recording and related materials.

Distribution of Training Materials Policy

Due to the changing nature of human resources laws and issues to include potential misinterpretation of materials, POOL/PACT HR does not distribute hard nor soft copies of training materials, or any related handouts, for individuals who did not attend the original presentation, whether facilitator-led or web-based.

Cancellation Policy

POOL/PACT HR will make every effort to fulfill each and every scheduled training commitment. However, due to unforeseen circumstances or insufficient attendance numbers, POOL/PACT HR reserves the right to cancel or reschedule trainings. Member contacts will be notified as soon as practicable by phone or email if any changes are made to the scheduled program.

Safe and Respectful Learning Environment

POOL/PACT HR desires and expects that all provided trainings be presented in safe and respectful learning environments. In order to achieve such environments, it is expected that all training participants treat other participants and the facilitator(s) with respect and refrain from bullying, harassing, and/or discriminating behavior. While appropriate humor is encouraged, any inappropriate humor that degrades others or makes light of violent acts or self-harm will not be tolerated. Any other comments, behavior, and/or jokes deemed inappropriate by other participants or the facilitator will not be tolerated. Participants in violation of this policy may be asked to leave the training. Participants are encouraged to report any inappropriate behavior, comments, and/or jokes to the facilitator. Participants who feel the facilitator is in violation of this policy are encouraged to contact POOL/PACT HRs’ General Manager. We look forward to working with you to create a safe and respectful learning environment that encourages and facilitates learning opportunities and discussion.
