POOL/PACT HR Training Policies

Training Attendance and Participation Policy

All participants must register themselves in advance in order to attend a training program.  Whether participating in person or virtually, attendees are expected to attend each session of the training in its entirety.  This applies to both multi-day certificate programs and single-day non-certificate courses.

Attendance Requirements

Certificate Programs: Missing more than one hour of a session will result in ineligibility to receive a certificate of completion or continuing education units (CEUs) until all sessions are completed in full.

Non-Certificate Courses: Missing more than 25% of the session will result in ineligibility to receive a certificate of attendance.

Multi-Day Certificate Programs: Participants who do not complete the first session will not be allowed to attend subsequent sessions until the first session is completed in its entirety.

Participation Requirements

All participants must:

  • Complete any required pre- and post-assessments and course evaluations.
  • Engage fully in training activities and discussions.
  • Meet any format-specific requirements for full participation.

Failure to meet the attendance and participation expectations may disqualify participants from receiving a certificate and CEUs.

Additional Requirements for Virtual Participants

Participants attending training virtually must:

  • Use their own workstation with a functioning webcam that remains on throughout each session.
  • Have access to a microphone to engage in group discussions and activities.

Participants who do not have a functioning microphone or access to their own workstation within 15 minutes of the training start time will be removed from the session.

Note: The technology and workstation requirements for virtual attendance do not apply to entity-specific policy compliance trainings.

POOL/PACT Educational Risk Management Grants may be available to defray costs of webcams and/or microphones for member-owned equipment for staff unable to attend this training due to budget constraints.

Certificate Program Make-up Policy

Participants who miss more than one hour of a certificate program session may be able to retake the session in its entirety in order to receive a certificate. Interested participants should contact POOL/PACT HR.

Recording of Training Policy

Due to the changing nature of human resources laws and issues to include potential misinterpretation of information, POOL/PACT HR does not allow recording of any type (e.g., audio recording, videotaping, artificial intelligence note-takers) of our trainings including, but not limited to, facilitator-led courses, HR Briefings, online trainings, and webinars. If POOL/PACT HR determines training should be recorded for member use, POOL/PACT HR will conduct recording and maintain ownership of the recording and related materials.

Distribution of Training Materials Policy

Due to the changing nature of human resources laws and issues to include potential misinterpretation of materials, POOL/PACT HR does not distribute hard nor soft copies of training materials, or any related handouts, for individuals who did not attend the original presentation, whether facilitator-led or web-based.

Cancellation Policy

POOL/PACT HR will make every effort to fulfill each and every scheduled training commitment. However, due to unforeseen circumstances or insufficient attendance numbers, POOL/PACT HR reserves the right to cancel or reschedule trainings. Member contacts will be notified as soon as practicable by phone or email if any changes are made to the scheduled program.

Safe and Respectful Learning Environment

POOL/PACT HR desires and expects that all provided trainings be presented in safe and respectful learning environments.  In order to achieve such environments, it is expected that all training participants treat other participants and the facilitator(s) with respect and refrain from bullying, harassing, and/or discriminating behavior.  Any comments or behavior deemed inappropriate by the facilitator will not be tolerated.  Participants in violation of this policy may be asked to leave the training.
